More evidence that angels do live on this earth

Christmas is for Children- Part 1

I haven't added anything for a while so I thought I would reminisce about how all the wonderful Christmases I have enjoyed.

I have been thinking about my beautiful children and just how fast they have grown, but oh my what a joy, pleasure, blessing and privilege it has been to watch theses kids grow for the past 25 years.

We have had some wonderful Christmases and although time has blurred some of the memories, I still fondly recall watching as the kids came downstairs to see what Santa left under the tree.

Christmas morning with my family reminds me of the scripture- And as they looked to behold they cast their eyes towards heaven, and they saw the heavens open, and they saw angels descending out of heaven as it were in the midst of fire; and they came down and encircled those little ones about, and they were encircled about with fire; and the angels did minister unto them.

Our Trip to Vegas

So, it was a little while back that we went on a trip to Vegas but we have so many fun pictures we wanted to share. We got the star treatment from our sweet ride to our hotel room to getting to go to a show. We got to ride around in a Mercedes in which the whole roof was a sun roof. It was pretty cool. we were able to score some tickets to the blue man group which was sooo much fun, we laughed so hard and came out of the show wrapped in toilet paper!!! We went to the wax museum and got to see a lot of celebrities including one of mom's favorites matthew mcconaughey!!! she was on cloud nine! we got serenaded by elvis, did thriller with michael jackson, judged by simon cowell, and played golf with tiger woods. we watched the gorgeous fountains at night and got some good ole shopping done!!

Little Ms. Einstein

So a few months ago , we were dreading the deadline that December brought...no not Christmas, but the dreaded Science Fair competition. Isn't it wonderful how the so called experts think that kids don't have enough to do in school so they make it mandatory that our kids enter the Science Fair. The thing that upsets me about this is that rarely is this thing a positive experience for the kids. It just adds to the stress that parents have to help their kids get through another school year. I understand why they do this, but the kids tend to struggle with their other classes while they try to scrape a project together.

Now I'll step off my soap box and give props to Kelsey. Kelsey was one of 2 (I believe) students from West Hills middle school to have their project selected for the State competition at BYU.

Her project involved studying how a person's pulse and blood pressure changed when shown a photo of a prominent person. She chose Hilary Clinton, Osama Bin Laden, George Bush and Barak Obama as the variables.

Kelsey won the originality award for her project. Not bad for an 8th grader!

Good job Kelsey!

29 years ago I met this little starry eyed girl who was tired of dating Mr. Wrong and looking for Mr. Wright. Well she found me instead and I have blessed to watch 29 birthdays come and go. Wow! 29! My sweetheart turned 50 on the 31st of March. I gave her a card congratulating her on the 29th anniversary of her 21st birthday, she certainly looks younger than a half of a century-whatever that means! We had a great day together finished off by a wonderful dinner at Carino's.

I have always said that I look forward to growing old togetherwith her, well it is happening and I'm not sure that this getting old thing is exactly what I thought it would be. But I am glad that we're in it together.

I do know that I am so blessed to have this "young lady" in my life. We had some tough times and a lot of wonderful times, but the best thing is we have hung in there together and have a wonderful family to share our lives.

I love you Lori, thanks for sticking around for 29 years so I could buy you a birthday gift. Here's to 29 more!

Check out the SEXY dessert in the slide show! NO NOT LORI!

only son of an only son of an only son

So many thoughts are running through my mind today as I reflect on the birth of my first grandchild.

Sadly I was not there to celebrate the wonderful event, as luck would have it, I had to travel this week.

Today I took on a title I will have with me forever- Grandpa! When I think of Grandpa, I think of my Grandpa's. I miss them, they were 2 very different men but were brave men who made a living off the beautiful southern Utah landscape.

Grandpa Johnson passed away while I was serving a mission in Ecuador, he had been in poor health for many years before that. He was a quiet, unassuming man. He had a deep gravely voice and laugh.

Grandpa Munson was a good natured guy who loved to laugh and tell jokes. I feel so lucky to have had him around for so many years. He was an amzing guy who just kept on ticking.

The great thing about this little boy born today is that he is the only one that carries the Munson name on for his father, his grandfather, his great grandfather, and his great great grandfather. Congratulations Grandpa Si!

He will have the best father a son could ever have.

A whole month of birthdays!

March is the month for birthdays in the Munson family.
Patrick celebrated his on the 11th, Skye celebrated hers on the 12th, the only thing they needed was for the baby to be born on the 13th. He had other thoughts in mind. I guess he wants his own special birthday.
Anyway, I want to wish a very happy birthday to my kids in Logan. I hope they had 2 great days of birthdays! I love you guys.

Dad's time to brag.

Ok... I have to brag about my fantastic kids... Why I was blessed with such great kids I'll never know. They take after their Mother is why.

Lacy is doing great with her new job. She is saving money for a car..a red convertible corvette....NOT!!!!! It has been wonderful to have her back home with us. She gives me lots of hugs... which mean so much to me. I love to watch movies with her when she isn't being occupied by some other guy!

These last few weeks have been big for Kelsey. Her science project was picked to go to BYU for the State finals. She recieved top scores for her Rube Goldberg machine...see video. And she is in the School musical which starts this week...Way to go Tosk!!!! It is so hard to see the "sweet one" grow so fast, but she is such a sweet young woman.

Patrick is doing so well and is about to become a Dad... eee gads, that will make me a grandpa....thanks alot Patrick! He has accepted a summer internship with ATK to work in the Contracts Administation group. Skye is just this little blonde girl with a little round belly. It's so hard to believe that she is almost 9 months pregnant. I hope she is getting her sleep now, because if Finegan is anything like Patrick was, she is in for 2 very long years of nights!!!!

HMMM for some reason the video did not attach.. any one know why? It is 34 meg, too big perhaps?

Ok, I'm still trying to figure out how to do this thing!
I was able to get Alex's slide show going....phew.
Anyway... I want to give my love to Kris, Kenyon and Alex.
Alex left on Feb. 20th for the MTC. He will be serving in the Mexico City East mission.

My little sis is such a rock, and a great example to her whole family. She was such a huge supporter for Patrick while he served in Houston, Texas.
I love you Sis, my prayers are with you and your family.
