The perfect day!

My heart is full with joy yet heavy at this moment. The perfect day has passed and I am left with wonderful memories and gratitude for all who have blessed my family's lives these past few days.
I will post some photos when I have have them all but I want to thank everyone who played any kind of role in the wedding and reception for JD and Lacy. Fairytales do come true, miracles too.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Now that the afterglow of the holidays is gone and we are into the long winter blahs, I thought it would be a good time to update the events of the last month.

The holidays were absolutely wonderful, lots of parties, good food, family and late nights watching HGTV, Jazz games and movies! Thank goodness we have 2 TV's so everyone had something to watch that met their tastes.

Christmas eve and Christmas day flew by so fast, but they were so memorable. JD proposed Lacy on Christmas eve. He asked me the day before to film him proposing on his new HD video camera. I was grateful that he asked and that he wanted to propose at our house. He is a very respectful young man and will be a great addition to the family. We even had some time during the holidays to do some male bonding with Patrick out in the wood shop. I'm glad that both JD and Patrick are showing interest in woodworking. It is a great hobby to have because you can make some great things while saving lots of money.

I am so happy for my little Lacy Doll, she will be such a beautiful bride. I will be very sad to see her leave but I know that JD loves her very much and will do his very best to take care of her.

The best part of Christmas was having my new best bud around. Little Porter is such a joy and although he didn't get the concept of the holiday, he was really the best present Lori and I could receive. The hard part is that he is not a cuddler, and all we wanted to do was squeeze him and snuggle with him. He would rather be on the floor playing and drooling. One Sunday when the kids went to church with us, we had Porter in the gym for Sunday School. Porter was on the gym floor scooting around. Everywhere he went he left a slime trail behind him. We laughed so hard because it looked like a snail had been in there.

Kelsey loved the holidays because she was off school for 2 weeks! She seemed to hibernate the whole time. She was in heaven sleeping in, watching TV and just hanging out.

Lori received a Cricut Expression for Christmas and now she is Martha Jr. We spent one Saturday doing wood crafts. JD and Patrick ended up being the experts on the Cricut, but JD will deny he knows anything about it!
This Holiday goes down in the record books as the best ever! Even better is that the best is yet to come!!!!
